Frans Prešern was a famous Slovenian poet, considered by many to be the greatest Slovenian literary figure of all time. Born in 1800, he lived through a time when, under Austrian rule, Slovenes did not even have basic cultural and linguistic rights. Primozh Trubar
Primož Trubar was a prominent Slovene Protestant reformer and writer who lived in the 16th century. He is known for his contribution to the development of the Slovenian language, literature and culture. Throughout his life, he wrote numerous works on religious themes and translated important texts into Slovenian. His most famous achievement is the writing of the first complete book in Slovene called “Catechism”.

Who was Rudolph Meister?
Rudolf Meister was a Slovenian military leader and activist during World War I. He is considered a national hero of Slovenia for his role in the defense and liberation of the city of Maribor from German troops in 1918. Meister also played an important role in the creation of the state of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs, which later became part of Yugoslavia. He also served as mayor of Maribor from 1920 to 1929, where he pursued progressive policies that helped modernize the city.
