Holidays in the USA 2023 – it’s important to know!

There are two types of holidays in the USA – federal and local. Federal holidays are celebrated throughout the country, on this day federal employees have a non-working day. But some states celebrate such holidays on other days. This is due to the laws of individual states. For example, George Washington’s birthday is celebrated in February, but in Georgia and Indiana it is celebrated in December. Federal holiday dates are posted on the United States Office of Personnel Management website.

If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it is postponed. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, it is moved to the previous Friday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday becomes a non-working day.
