Why was Children’s Leukemia Week established?
Childhood Leukemia Week (November 2-8) is organized to raise awareness of leukemia and to provide support to children battling this disease. The goal of this week is to help better understand the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment processes of leukemia. The main goal of these events is to increase the level of knowledge about leukemia in the community and to give hope to patients and their families.
What happens during Ataturk week?
Ataturk Week, November 10-16, is a period during which Ataturk is commemorated throughout the country, his principles and reforms are explained, his speeches are broadcast on radio and television, and films about Ataturk are shown.
On November 10 at 09.05, a two-minute silence will be observed throughout Turkey to the sound of sirens in memory of Ataturk. Then, as a sign of mourning, flags will be lowered in all official buildings of Turkey and in the country’s foreign missions, with the exception of the flags in front of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
