Holidays in Serbia 2024 – important to know!

Holidays in Serbia in 2024 are held according to the Law on State and Other Holidays. All holidays can be divided into four categories:

  1. Public holidays with a non-working day.
  2. Religious holidays with a non-working day.
  3. Optional religious holidays.
  4. Public holidays with a working day.

IMPORTANT! On optional religious holidays, representatives of a certain denomination or faith have the right to a day off. For example, for Catholics this could be Good Friday or Christmas, for Jews – Yom Kippur.

In addition to holidays, there are important (significant) dates in Serbia. They are timed to coincide with important events in the history of the country. They are approved by the Government of the Republic of Srpska, and the Committee for the Preservation of Traditions of the Republic of Srpska monitors compliance.
