For Polish schoolchildren, the school year is divided into several parts with four rest periods. Here are the holidays in 2023-2024:
Summer holidays 2023;
Winter holiday break;
Winter holidays in 2024;
Spring break;
Summer holidays in 2024.
The start and end dates for the winter holiday break and spring break are the same for everyone (see below). Winter holidays last for two weeks, but their dates depend on the voivodship to which the school belongs (all listed below).
There are also separate types of adult educational institutions in which the end of the school year is highly shifted. In this publication, we have provided information for them. Below are the school holidays for children in Poland for the 2023-2024 academic year.
School holidays in Poland 2023-2024
Summer holidays 2023: from June 24 to September 3;
Start of classes: September 4, 2023;
Winter holiday break: December 23 to 31, 2023.
The winter vacation:
January 15-28, 2024: Lower Silesian, Mazowieckie, Opole, West Pomeranian Voivodeships.
January 22 – February 4, 2024: Podlaskie, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
January 29 – February 11, 2024: Lublin, Lodz, Subcarpathian, Pomeranian, Silesian Voivodeships.
IMPORTANT! Dates are in the format “Monday to Sunday”. That is, in reality, schoolchildren rest for 2 days longer, due to the weekend before the holidays.
Spring holiday break (spring break): March 28 to April 2, 2024;
End of classes in all schools except those described below : June 21, 2024;
Summer holidays 2024: from June 22 to August 31.
Graduation from special types of schools
April 26, 2024 ends classes at adult educational institutions of the following type (if they start classes on the first weekday of September ):
Higher general education schools;
Secondary technical schools;
Vocational schools 2 levels;
General secondary schools.
On January 5, 2024, classes for students under the program of higher comprehensive secondary schools for adults end, in which the start of educational classes falls on the first weekday of February .
On January 26, 2024 , classes end at higher educational institutions studying in professions with a term of study of one and a half or two and a half years, in which didactic and educational classes begin on the first working day of September .
On January 26, 2024, classes at adult educational institutions of the following type end (if they start classes on the first weekday of February ):
Branch vocational schools of the 1st stage;
Branch vocational schools of the II stage;
Higher educational institutions in specialties with a one- or two-year term of study;
